Can We Control the Market?

Happy Tuesday everyone, long-time no talk!

I’ve been doing a ton of research, study, looking into other trading systems, and backtesting for essentially a single purpose:

To control the market, or in other words, attempt to somehow gain control of where my trades go.

And I get excited when I do this, because it makes me feel like I’ve finally figured it all out and am on my way to success.

I suddenly want to execute this gigantic position size because of this overwhelming feeling of control.

Does anyone else get like that? When it happens to me, and it does a lot, I just have to laugh at myself.

Newsflash: There’s no way I control the markets or my trade’s outcome.

It’s crazy how when I have a huge amount of confidence in a trade, that’s when a trade does the worst.

It’s a sad but 1,000% true lesson I’ve learned time and time again.

It’s so easy to fall prey to this idea that we have it all figured out, that we’ve discovered a system with a 100% winning rate… and that’s obviously not realistic.

In reality, the best trades we make can sometimes be the ones we feel the worst about.

Don’t let confidence or the idea that you can control the market influence your trading.

Good luck trading everyone!
